• You enroll in the PhD program in Economics at the University of St.Gallen (https://www.unisg.ch/en/research/phd/graduate-programme-in-economics-and-finance-gpef/). You are encouraged to enroll also in the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics at the Study Center Gerzensee.
• You are working on your PhD thesis in development economics or political economics, with the doctoral supervisor being Prof. Dr. Roland Hodler.
• You collaborate with other researchers of the chair team and beyond.
• You support the teaching activities of Prof. Dr. Roland Hodler in development economics, political economics, and public economics at the Bachelor and Master levels.

• You are committed to high-quality academic research in development economics or political economics.

• You have an outstanding Master's degree in economics or a related field (by August or September 2025), and you have advanced knowledge of econometric and theoretical methods.

• You have excellent command of statistical software (e.g., R or STATA) and are willing to learn further programming languages and software packages (e.g., GIS or Python).
