Beschreibung der Stelle

Titel des Stelleninserats

Student Assistant – Strategic Management & AI Forecasting (m/w/d)

Kern- und Hauptaufgaben

Every strategy is, at its core, a forecast of the future — and AI has become remarkably good at forecasting. Yet this has mostly been tested in Western markets, on Western questions, with models trained on Western data. That's why we're building the first interactive, AI-powered forecasting platform focused entirely on African economic and political development. You'll work hands-on with frontier large language models and autonomous forecasting agents, benchmark them against real prediction markets, and help shape a project with the potential to develop ties with Wharton Business School.

  • Build an interactive, AI-powered forecasting platform using our existing tools
  • Scrape prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi for relevant questions on African economic and political development
  • Develop and test autonomous forecasting agents
  • Evaluate AI forecasting accuracy and benchmark it against prediction markets
  • Conduct data analysis and supporting research
  • Maintain and update the website and dashboard

Erwartete Kompetenzen / Profil

The ideal candidate should have a combination of the following qualities:

  • Advanced Bachelor's or Master's student in Management, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or a related field
  • Strong interest in strategic management, forecasting, and artificial intelligence
  • Experience with large language models and AI agents
  • Independent and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Can work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent English communication skills (Level C1 or higher)
  • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented way of working
  • Some programming and data-analysis skills (e.g. Python) are a plus

Vorstellung der Organisationseinheit

The Chair of Prof. Dr. Peter Murmann at the Institute of Management & Strategy works at the intersection of strategic management, competitive advantage, and artificial intelligence, studying how firms can anticipate and shape a quickly evolving and uncertain future.
